A hearty, one-pot dish packed with tomatoes, noodles, meat, and cheese!
Ingredients:
- 1.5 lb ground beef, chicken, or turkey
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (12 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups chicken stock
- 1/2-1 cup water
- 1 tsp dried Basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried Rosemary
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt to taste (about 1-1 1/2 tsp)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 10-12 Lasagna noodles
- 1 cup grated Pecorino Romano
- 1 cup grated Mozzarella
Directions:
- In a large pot (5-7qts) on medium-high heat, cook ground meat with onions until all pink is gone.
- Then, mix in garlic and sauté for about 2-3 mins.
- Next, mix in tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, chicken stock, water, dried basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
- Add lasagna noodles. Then, turn the heat to medium-low and let everything simmer in the pot with the lid on for 30 mins to 1 hour, stirring and scraping the bottom of the pan occasionally.
- Before serving, mix in Pecorino Romano and Mozzarella, stir until melted, and enjoy!
